The California Residential Code requires carbon monoxide alarms in dwelling units as well as smoke alarms when building permits are issued and the scope of work exceeds a total cost or calculated valuation of $1,000. In order to grant a final approval on your permit, it is necessary to verify the installation of these alarms within the dwelling.
Contractors are required by law to be licensed and bonded by the State of California and to have a business license from the Town of Windsor. They are also required by law to put their license number on all permits for which they apply.
